According to the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, home spending on remodeling activity is on the rise and could grow by double digits by early 2013. That’s great news for prospective home-based small business owners in particular because there are literally hundreds of proven and potentially quite profitable business opportunities, distributorships, licensee opportunities and franchises that capitalize on this growing trend.
Anticipating the remodeling industry is moving into a new growth phase, Kermit Baker, director of the Remodeling Futures Program at the Joint Center, had this to say in a recent statement:
“Now, the combination of low financing costs, stronger consumer confidence, improving home sales and the perception that home prices have stabilized in most markets across the country are encouraging owners to start working on the list of home improvement projects they have been putting off.”
Additionally, as the housing market continues to rebound, sellers will be looking to make sure their homes are in the best condition possible to ensure the highest return on their investment possible, making this the perfect time to explore business opportunities and franchises that cater to this increasing and considerable demand.
