Maybe he’s a small business owner who lives in or near a large U.S. city. He works all day from his home office behind a computer screen, isolated. Maybe he’s thinking he needs to branch out, meet some movers and shakers that can help him take his business to the next level. But he’s not sure where to go to make that happen. And even if his aspirations aren’t that great, he’s sure in need of some face-to-face interaction with people who talk his same language. Perhaps he’s looking for an appropriate off-site location to meet a prospective new client or an investor or to close a deal.

Sound familiar? Well look no further than Entrepreneur’s 2012 guide to the best business bars for some thoughts on where you can go to get the job done.


Citing the somewhat disturbing fact that it’s not at all unusual today for “two parties to complete a deal without ever meeting face to face,” Entrepreneur has identified its list of the top bars nationwide that offer the most conducive atmosphere for various business-related purposes this year.

And here they are:

Drago Centro in Los Angeles’ City National Plaza, if you want to get a lead on your new head of sales as it offers a great networking venue

Living Room at the W Hotel in Midtown Atlanta, where the drinks aren’t cheap but it’s a great place for startup entrepreneurs to meet someone who can help

Metropolitan Grill in Seattle where the “gravitas is gratis” and impressing potential clients over lunch is a given

Charlie Palmer Steak in Washington, D.C., for politicking because it’s where the wheelers and dealers hang out

ROOF on theWit in Chicago to celebrate a sizable influx of funding or any other big occasion because when you feel on top of the world, you deserve the view as well
