Hot Work-from-Home Business Offers Flexibility While Helping Others to Help Themselves

Having owned a company called Maryland Home Business Expo, which promoted home business opportunities and also helped people with their own startup, Jaylin Bailey knows a great and timely opportunity when she sees one. “FES (Financial Education Services) was a company that exhibited at my expos,” she says, “and once I learned more about what it had to offer, I knew it was the perfect fit for my lifestyle.”

Now a National Recruiter for FES, Jaylin has the freedom to run her own successful business from anywhere in the country, providing critical services that help others in any number of ways. “I get to continue traveling full-time (She and her husband began pursuing their lifelong dream of being full-time RVers beginning in 2012!) and meet people all around the country, helping them to build businesses of their own.” But the FES opportunity doesn't just offer tremendous flexibility. It's also a great business opportunity at the right time.

In the wake of the most recent economic downturn, FES offers individuals who are facing financial challenges a comprehensive and affordable complement of products and services designed to help them recover, rebuild and eventually retire. Not only does the company have a decade-long proven track record of helping people to improve their credit scores, but it also provides other programs that address critical problems such as identity protection, will and trust planning and debt payoff—all for one low monthly fee.

“FES has helped tens of thousands of people to put their financial house in order, that’s true,” Jaylin says. “But, it’s also helped numerous entrepreneurs just like me to create a thriving and successful business helping others to help themselves by providing all the support of a corporate environment with all the benefits of entrepreneurship.”

Recently asked by BusinessOpportunity.com’s Entrepreneur Exchange to provide her thoughts on a number of pertinent issues related to small business ownership, Jaylin shared the following insights:

How does someone know if they have what it takes to own their own business? Tell us a bit about how you made the decision and why.

One of my favorite quotes is, “Don’t complain about the money you don’t have for the work you didn’t do.” To me, it’s what this industry is all about. You have to be hungry for something more in life and have a belief that you can make it happen. The difference between owning your own business and working for someone else can be summed up in one word…possibility. I love that there is never a salary cap when you own your own business. I’ve owned a business most of my life for the very reason that I feel like I’m standing still if I’m in a salaried job.

What is it about the business/industry you are in that made it so attractive to you?

At FES, I can go where I want, live where I want. No home parties, no inventory or quotas. I truly make my own decisions, and I love the freedom. Best of all my business makes a difference in people’s lives, and I love helping others. It’s wonderful when people save thousands of dollars by increasing their credit score and can now save that money or do other things with their family. Having financial problems is very stressful, and saving people money by lowering their rates on housing, insurance or auto payments is emotionally rewarding.

What marketing strategies have you found to be most successful in growing your business?

It’s important to find creative ways to market your business 24 hours a day. Here are some tips:

• Put a magnet on your car

• Create a name badge for yourself, like realtors do, with your logo and tag line

• Create postcards and leave them everywhere

• Whenever you pay a check or bill give them a postcard and tell them what you do

• Whenever you do business with anyone ask them for business or if they know someone who may be interested

• Whenever someone says no, ask again. Maybe not right then, but put it on your calendar for a call back to check in. Things always change.

• No matter if you work full- or part-time, schedule your hours and hold yourself accountable. That way you can keep track of production and make sure you’re putting in the hours.

• Network with others in your industry. There is enough business for everyone, and they may have spoken with someone who is not interested in their business but may be interested in yours. You can refer leads to one another. Who knows? It may end up being your most rewarding lead source.

• Based on your schedule, have a minimum number of people you speak with everyday about your business

• Be a resource in your industry. Don’t just ask for business, but refer to others. You truly do get by giving, and lastly

• Find ways to connect your business in your community by doing community service.
