What was the greatest challenge you faced in getting your business started and how did you face it?

My biggest challenge was in being patient. I knew I needed to go forward as best I could on a daily basis if I wanted to meet my goals and get the business off the ground.

What is the single strongest piece of advice you would have for someone just starting out in business?

You have to be persistent and not give up too easily. Stay with it, and move the ball forward a little bit more each day.

What would you say is the one thing that new business owners forget about or overlook when they are just starting out?

They don’t realize just how much patience it takes to get things going. They have to know and expect that things just don’t happen overnight.

What marketing strategies have you found work best for you?

I would say unequivocally social networks. You have to use them to the fullest extent whenever and however possible. They represent a great way to not only generate overall interest in your products and services, but to develop leads. They also allow you to establish a blog and to post pertinent information that is beneficial to your clients on a daily basis.

What is it about your particular business or industry that you found so appealing?

There is unprecedented awareness out there today about the benefits of a fit and healthy lifestyle. I am a runner and have always been careful about eating properly and staying fit, so WorkOUT USA enables me to work in an industry that suits my lifestyle. Doing something that you really enjoy and like doing is a key to success.

What process do you use to close a lead and make a final sale?

I follow up regularly using an auto-responder and a newsletter.

Do you have any words of encouragement or inspiration for the budding entrepreneur?

When your overhead exceeds your income, your upkeep will be your downfall!
