USA Today Expert Columnist Says Now Is the Best Time Ever for Small Business

Whether or not to buy a home-based or other small business opportunity or franchise is a big decision, especially given the current and seemingly unstable economic recovery, right? Not according to small business and entrepreneurship expert and USA Today guest columnist, Steve Strauss. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth when you take a moment to put things in historical perspective.

In his column yesterday, Strauss points out that it was not too long ago that the world was what he calls “bi-polar” when it comes to business, largely dominated by the two systems of communism and capitalism. Specifically with regard to the former, small business enterprise was for the most part relegated to the black market. As for capitalism all through the early to mid-20th century and even a bit beyond that, well, let’s just say that big business was larger and more in charge than ever before.
