Boozelator™ 3001f: Fuel Cell
Fuel Cell Sensors are among the best and most accurate alcohol sensors available; they are often utilized by law enforcement. Fuel cell sensors function better than semiconductor sensors in poor air quality environments, which is important to take into consideration when thinking about where the machine will be located. Our fuel cell sensors have a long lifespan; they can last 2-5 years before needing replacement. Sensor Maintenance is as low as ~$1 per machine per year.

Boozelator™ 3001s: Semiconductor
Semiconductor sensor used to be the standard in vending due to the fact that they are inexpensive, which is their only advantage. They require a sterile air environment to work properly, which means a bar is not a good location for this technology. They are affected by air quality, which means that alcohol fumes, perfume, cologne, hairspray and other toxins found in any bar will cause this sensor to give inaccurate readings. Semiconductor sensors need to be replaced a few times/year, and can cost about $100-$300/year in maintenance. If a reseller does not state which type of sensor they use, it is guaranteed to be a semiconductor. Fuel cell sensor resellers/manufacturers are proud to let their customers know, because it is their biggest selling feature. We can offer you a semiconductor sensor if you wish, but we rarely sell them.
