Patrick Coyne is the owner of PMC ECO Supply, LLC, a company that offers an affordable green business opportunity for entrepreneurs who are interested in capitalizing on the growing high-demand energy conservation industry. PMC ECO Supply’s line of Power Miser products provides today’s cost and environmentally conscious consumers with an affordable and simple way to lessen their electric consumption by as much as 10% to 25%, saving them considerable money over time.

Power Miser Distributors can earn huge profits by purchasing the company’s products at wholesale prices and reselling them to their customers at retail, content in the knowledge that they represent the highest quality products of their kind…all made in the USA. Moreover, as the most recognized and highly regarded brand in the industry, PMC ECO Supply stands by its Power Miser products on every level and warranties them for five years.

In addition to his PMC ECO Supply business and given his considerable background in real estate, Patrick has co-hosted a weekly radio show called Property Source Radio for three years now, making him somewhat of an on-air celebrity in the Rochester, N.Y. market. He was introduced to the power-saving devices he now represents a couple of years ago. “I tried one out and was intrigued by how well it worked, especially given its affordable retail price point,” he says. “The idea that it saved me about $40 per month on my electric and that it only cost me $399 was fascinating to me. In fact, I was so fascinated that you could say ‘I bought the company.’”

Next, Patrick went about the business of perfecting his business, finding a high-end manufacturing outfit to correct some of the quality control problems he observed. He then hired a design person to develop the Power Miser brand and logo. “We created the best website in the industry and started marketing the products to the retail market,” he says. “Then we decided to show others how they can add the Power Miser product line to their existing business or sell them as new distributors in business for themselves. Now, I have the best-looking and highest quality brand in the industry.”

Asked to share his thoughts in response to some of the questions most often posed by BusinessOpportunity.com's Entrepreneur Exchange readers, Patrick had this to offer:

How does someone know if they have what it takes to own their own business? Tell us a bit about how you made the decision and why.

I have always been frustrated by having a regular job. It was just an internal feeling that never went away. I made the decision to buy into this business and industry because there was almost ZERO competition!

What was the biggest challenge you faced in your first six months in business?

I spent too much on marketing and things like that.

How did you meet that challenge?

I had to scale back and increase sales.

What do you think is the greatest challenge facing business owners today?

The greatest challenge is cash flow.

What is the single strongest piece of advice you would have for someone just starting out in business for themselves?

Keep pushing if you believe in your business.

What is it about the business/industry you are in that made it so attractive to you?

It saves money for customers in tough times.

What on-line, software or other resources have helped you the most in managing all aspects of your company?

Quickbooks

What process do you follow to successfully close on a lead and make the final sale? Any tips?

Keep following up.

What is/are your favorite motto and/or quote when it comes to business?

“If it’s not a Power Miser, it is an imposter.”
