She Means Business: Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur Is our Book-of-the-Month.

Carrie Green began her entrepreneurial life at the tender age of 20, starting a company that would go global in just a few years. She has turned her experience into a book, She Means Business: Turn Your Ideas into Reality and Become a Wildly Successful Entrepreneur, published recently, in February 2017, by Hay House UK. The book is available on Amazon and other online book retailers.

She Means Business

She Means Business: Clarity and Courage

In her book, Green emphasizes how important it is to move beyond fear to actually start your business. Too many would-be entrepreneurs worry that their idea is no good or won’t gain traction. So they let great ideas die on the vine, without giving them a real try.

Once you move forward, you need to be sure that you have clarity and perspective. Who is your audience? What specifically can you do for them? What are their pain points? Developing a clear vision for where you are now and the direction you want to take your company is the only way you can plan for success from the start.

She Means Business: Build a Successful Brand

Green stresses the importance of creating a brand that is recognizable. This makes it so much easier to gain followers and spread buzz about your products and services.

Once you identify your tribe and give them a place to assemble, you can let them spread the word. Nothing works better than word-of-mouth, whether in real life or on social media. Followers become buyers and subscribers, giving your business stability, a steady infusion of cash and sustainability.

She Means Business: Stay Centered, Get Organized

When Green was setting up her own business, she suffered from isolation. She realized she needed to connect with other entrepreneurs and those in her field, for ideas, support and encouragement.

The experience showed her how critical it is for people starting a business to expect feelings of overwhelm and confusion. When you expect them, you can more easily move past them. She also knows the feeling of being blocked, just not knowing what to do next or where to turn.

In her book, she offers tips, steps that worked for her to get around, over or through various obstacles and challenges. She feels strongly that to be successful, entrepreneurs need to first condition themselves for success, right from the get-go. This adds a layer of protection when facing discouragement, empty pockets and difficult people.

Green feels strongly that you must manage your time carefully if you intend to be successful. Entrepreneurs wear so many hats, that they end up getting pulled in too many directions.

Consider all you need to do to get your business off to a good start. You are responsible for selling, funding, production and marketing. Each role has a plethora of tasks involved. Unless you are productive and focused, and in charge of how you spend the hours of your day, you can’t be successful.

Green knows how effective goals are and why she puts so much focus on them. When you are clear about where you are going, you can keep heading in the right direction, even if it takes a zigzag course to get you there.

She Means Business: Not for Women Only

Green acknowledges the specific challenges facing women, from family responsibilities to low expectations. She feels strongly that if she can make a success with her company, so can other women, whatever type of business they start.

Though the book is titled She Means Business, the advice and tips actually work for any entrepreneur. The fear, isolation, time management and branding issues are common to all types of startups and business owners.

Green sees the current period as one of the best to start a new business. It takes just a computer and an internet connection to begin. You can spread the word about your company, connect with suppliers and customers and create a thriving business on a very tight budget.

She Means Business: Female Entrepreneur Association

To deal with the isolation that stymies so many new owners, Green started the Female Entrepreneur Association, www.femaleentrepreneurassociation.com. With over a quarter-million members, it has become the destination of choice for women seeking connection and empowerment.

The organization has a variety of videos and classes to help entrepreneurs solve problems and get new ideas. The group also has an online community for support, networking and brainstorming.

Carrie Green received the Entrepreneur’s Champion of the Year Award in 2014 in Great Britain.
